General & Operational Objectives of VOCA extended

 

Project's General Objectives:

Project will support participants of VOCA in further training activities for developing a mentor skills and profession for mentoring the disabled people in integration of the individual to working environment and new job by the use of knowledge, skills and qualifications facilitates his/her personal development via VOCA courses both existing and in the new field and localized in new regions. VOCA will also support improvements in quality and innovation in VET systems targeting the mentoring of disabled people and further improve the practices present in this field.

Why VOCA extended born?

 

The concrete aim of this project is “to train mentors (who are also disabled) and consequently support (home based) employability of (mentee) disabled people by means of mentoring”. Thus both mentor and mentee will be included in the labour market:


In a narrower scale, a major problem for disabled people is to get into or maintain a connection to the labour market. In recent times, as in VOCA Europe, focus had been on preparing the disabled person for getting a job through assessment and training of the individual. In VOCA Europe 2, focus was put on the process of getting and keeping a job, and one of the project outcomes was the development and testing of a model for the training of Mentors who can assist both companies in employing a disabled individual and disabled people.

The Matching Process

 

Matching process by cognitive style preference and defines the principle of “cognitive pairing”. Both potential mentee and mentor should complete an application form and nominate an individual to provide a short reference.

Considering the current globalisation and market conditions and resulting competition in almost all different fields of service sectors, all home based employment opportunities are based on personal time, knowledge and effort.

„New hope for disabled people“

Finding a job has always been more difficult for disabled person than for healthy one. There is an intense competition at labor market and employers prefer less troubled employees. Virtual work from home can be a solution for both sides. They can do job which they used to do before but they won’t work in office but at home. To do this they need to communicate by e-mail or telephone. Requirements for this work are higher than for casual work.
